Great plugin. It would be nice if an email which you delete would be marked as read.

Trying Herald for the first time and it seems to be a fine replacement for the oft spotty GrowlMail. Also the number of features seem as if they will be useful on a daily basis!

Good luck on the app...and your music!

Regards,
Ed

Using Herald in an isolated Test-Environment with installed Little Snitch shows, that Herald tries to access the web if an email contains e.g. links to external hosted images.

This is - from my point of view - an privacy problem. This happens regardless of the configuration of Mail.app.

After disabling herald, this immediately stops. I think this has something to do with the component/method which is used to show the preview of an e-mail.

From the privacy point of view the default seeting should be to plain text only without downloading *anything* without explicit permission from the user. Those users who don't care about privacy may have an option to explicitly allow this behaviour - but i recommend removing it completely: For an preview it is absolutely ok (and from the performance point of view smarter) to only show plain text.

Currently herald has a NOGO state on the computers i have to maintain. This may change as soon as herald does not affect the users privacy.

I think it should not be too hard to fix this within the next version. Would be glad to read about it.

Regards

Hey Erik,
thanks for the plugin.

it looks like a great replacement for growl mail.

i wanted to ask if a feature is possible.

if the notifications can go away after a few seconds if I'm using my computer but stay there if I am not.

growlmail does a nifty job of this.

thanks again!

I love this little plugin. Great presentation, and the only thing it really lacked for me was Spaces support. Now with 1.1, it is practically perfect. Thanks for developing this.
